As part of the gender-based violence phenomenon, the UN is running an awareness-raising campaign on this issue for 16 days of activism, from 25 November to 10 December, the World Human Rights Day. The dimensions of the phenomenon of gender-based violence vary, from sexual harassment to the most extreme form of violence, homicide. Of course, forms of gender-based violence are also found in the digital space, as both the Internet and digital systems in general have become part of our daily lives and our daily routines.

The reason why this day is so important is because people continue to experience violence because of their gender. But how does a gender-based violence survivor feel? A gender- based violence survivor speaks to DATAWO about this experience…

We thank her from the bottom of our hearts for sharing her experience with us and we wish her all love, strength and light! We are with you! If you have experienced any form of gender-based violence, you can contact us anonymously. We are here for you!
