The theme for this year’s International Women’s Day, celebrated annually on March 8, was “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow”, recognising the contribution of women and girls around the world, who lead the way to adapt to climate change in order to build a more sustainable future for all.
For us, however, as DATAWO, this UN Women-message is translated into the digital space, as an effort to reduce gender bias by artificial intelligence systems, to less sexual harassment and gender discrimination in the digital sphere. In such a world, we aim to this and all our actions have this as their ultimate goal.
It is true that Greece is in last place in the index for gender equality in 2021, as formed after a survey by the European Organisation for Gender Equality (EIGE). Therefore, one day is not enough to change the world. It needs a constant effort. And it needs all the people to be included in it, all the femininities!
We recognise the fight that our sisters gave and that they give every day and we are with them!
