The “Safe at Work” program, implemented under the Active Citizens Fund program, is a continuation of the nationwide survey “This is not our job” published by ActionAid in November 2020, according to which 85% of women in Greece have experienced sexual harassment at work. Impressive is the fact, as it appeared from the research, that the perpetrator was a colleague in a percentage of 50%, while about 1 in 4 employees report that the perpetrator was a customer and 1 in 5 times the director or owner of the company is involved.
The program adopts a holistic approach to the problem that moves in five axes:
-Legal counseling and representation of victims / survivors.
-The shaping and strengthening of the legal framework in the country.
-The creation of educational material and the training of human resources executives and employees in the whole range of workforce, private and public sector.
-The research and recording of men’s perceptions in relation to sexual harassment.
-Informing and raising awareness of the general public about sexual harassment at work.
