We are thrilled that on 24 January 2024 we shared the panel on “Alternative ‘Intimate’ Realities: Inclusive Ways of Framing Intimate Image-based Abuse (IIBA)” that was hosted by European Sex Workers’ Rights Alliance.

Every year, Privacy Camp, organised by EDRi, brings together over 300 digital rights advocates, activists, academics and policymakers, and we are happy that we joined them once again.

In our discussion, we commented the case O.G. and Others v Greece published by the European Court of Human Rights. This case case concerns sex workers’ privacy and the dissemination of their person dalata -including medical data and photographs – that received extensive media coverage in 2012 in Greece. According to the ECtHR there was a severe violation of Art. 8 ECHR and their privacy!

More than that, we stressed the different contexts of intimacy as well as the groups who define it and for whom.

We would like to thank once again ESWA for including us in the discussion and EDRi with whom we shared the panel and we had such a fruitful discussion! Many thanks also to the attendees for their positive feedback. <3
